Customer return process

Have you ever wondered what would happen if the seller's item was returned by a customer?

When the seller's product is returned to the customer, Coupang will collect the customer's return free of charge, inspect the condition of the product, and pay the seller up to 20% compensation based on the inspection grade. After that, you can return the item and resell it, or if you don't want to resell it, you can get the returned item back.

The return product compensation is calculated from the seller's product sales price minus the Rocket Growth usage fee (entry/exit fee, shipping fee, fee)
After the return inspection, the product will be graded according to its condition, and you will receive a compensation of at least 3% and up to 20% depending on the grade.

How to resell customer returns

You can convert returns into sellable inventory without additional losses using the compensation received!
By reselling returns, you can save on various additional costs such as shipping and disposal fees. When a customer return occurs, Coupang automatically pays a return compensation of up to 20% of the return product's grade

How to manage return resale in Wing

All products have return and resale enabled. If you do not wish to resell, please disable reselling.

[Wing > Rocket Growth > Customer Returns Management > Tables > Return Resale Options] You can turn on and manage return resale in].

By default, returned products are set to 'Active' for resale. Unless you've changed the settings.
Returned products corresponding to each category will be resold, such as “Return - Unopened” / “Return - Best” / “Return - Good” / “Return - Okay”.
Also, customers can easily find these resold return products on Coupang's product pages, detail pages, and more, as long as the 'Return Resale Option' is turned on.

※ However, for products registered before January 16, 2024, the default setting for the “Return and Resale Option” may be “Disabled (OFF).”
If you want to change the settings, Change the settings at [Wing >Manage Customer Returns > Return Resell Options]

How is the discount rate for resale products determined?
The same discount rate as the compensation rate paid for each level is automatically applied, and the seller can change the discount rate.
It is recommended that returned products be sold at a discount rate to quickly sell out of inventory.

FAQs

Isn't setting a discount rate for return sales a loss for sellers?
A. When setting the resale discount rate, Rocket Growth pays compensation appropriate for the level, so there is virtually no additional cost to the seller.
What happens if I don't turn on the return/resell option?
A. Automatic export occurs. When automatic export occurs, restocking costs are incurred when returning and reselling, and additional shipping costs are incurred.
How are storage fees calculated when reselling?
A.
1. The storage fee before return is the fee from the time of initial receipt to shipment, and
2. The fee from the time it is returned to the point of delivery
The two storage fees are calculated by adding them together.
I turned on the return/resell option, but is it possible for it to be returned?
A. Even after changing to resale, previous inspection cases that were being processed may be released sequentially for a certain period of time.
