Migle Communications’ journey on Rocket Growth with its in-house B2C brand: A success story of leveraging Coupang as a market analysis and content creation partner

Migle Communications manufactures and distributes denim-based women’s apparel

Founded in 2022, it specializes in producing, distributing, and selling women’s jeans. It’s committed to providing high-quality apparel at reasonable prices and delivering delight to customers. It has been in the clothing industry for over 20 years and in production for 15 years. Initially, it produced clothes focusing on B2B supply, but in 2022, it recognized the potential of online channels and launched its own brand, L.blossom, entering online B2C distribution for the first time. “We weave our own fabric from scratch. Since there are no middlemen, we can offer affordable prices compared to other players.”

As a late entrant in the online women’s clothing market, securing a brand foothold proved a major challenge

While it was correct in predicting the online apparel market would continue to grow, the market was already a red ocean full of competitors. “In the online market, we were a latecomer, so we had to figure out how we could get more exposure and establish our presence.” As a small player selling value-focused products, launching large-scale marketing campaigns was not easy.

Rocket Growth has been an essential roadmap for its growth on Coupang.

Since itstarted sales on CoupangMarketplace, Migle Communications aimed to join Rocket Growth to gain moreexposure.

"We have heard from other  sellers that getting a badge is essential for success on Coupang. Rocket  Delivery (Coupang’s first-party sales model) or joining Jet Delivery (currently, Rocket  Growth) was a clear goal from the get-go.”

Migle Communications was able tojoin Rocket Growth not long after launching its own brand. “Right now, joiningRocket Growth has become easier, but in the early days when we were entering B2C, receiving an offer from Jet Delivery was really something, we were like,‘What a great opportunity this is!”

Rocket Growth has helped it grow revenue, build sales strategies, and even create content

After joining Rocket Growth in early2022, Migle Communications achieved roughly a quadruple increase in annual sales between 2022 and 2023. This year, it expects to grow by at least 30%, and it’s a conservative estimate."We’ve seen a virtuous cycle where increased sales lead to more product reviews, which in turn lead to further sales uplift. Although we are on other online platforms as well, over 90% of our revenue now comes from Rocket Growth.”

It picks increased exposure and quick market feedback as the major advantages of Rocket Growth.

"We upload products on many  online channels. But we noticed that customer feedback, such as ratings and  reviews, is much faster on Coupang than on other platforms. That’s why we  always upload our new products on Coupang first."

Quick customer feedback is critical for a clothing company that offers a wide variety of products; it needs to be quick to react to customer feedback to ensure efficient production management. “We have numerousSKUs for countless products and sizes. We upload manufactured products and quickly evaluate how much they are welcomed by our customers. If a product proves not so competitive, we boldly remove it. But if it receives a good reaction, we arrange for our factories in China to increase production. Being able to quickly gauge market response and manage inventory on the fly is probably the best advantage RocketGrowth offers to us.”

Once its sales took off, Migle Communications has also been able to collaborate with Coupang on a wide range of advertising efforts, such as short-form videos. “We are a small company. We don’t really have the resources to create content and conduct professional marketing. We even had to outsource creating images for our product pages to acquaintances. But once we started seeing some results, we were able to get more support from Coupang, like producing video ads and hosting live broadcasts.”  

Migle Communications plans to leverage the strong presence of its in-house brand,L.blossom, on Rocket Growth for its expansion of product lineup

Migle Communications initially focused on selling women’s jeans, but now it has begun expanding its product categories since the spring of 2024 to include linen pants and men’s jeans. It plans to leverage L.blossom’s brand presence established on Coupang. “At first, we considered launching a new brand for men’s clothing because we thought people might perceive L.blossom as a women’s brand. We even got all the necessary trademarks. But after reviewing customer feedback, we noticed that women were recognizing our men’s clothing as L.blossom products and were purchasing them for their family members and boyfriends. That’s when we decided to use L.blossom’s presence on Coupang and started selling men’s products under its name."

Migle Communications exemplifies a clothing brand that has steadily grown by expanding brand awareness through Rocket Growth, responding quickly to customer feedback, and diversifying its product lines.

"Looking back, joining  Coupang Rocket Growth was the biggest turning point for us. If we hadn't  joined it, our sales would have likely stalled at the level we saw in the  first quarter of 2022."
